Instructional Technology Immersion Seminar 2013

Greetings Columbia College faculty!

Technology Services will be hosting the third annual Instructional Technology Immersion Seminar in May 2013! This event is open to all Day and Evening, full time and adjunct faculty members. In order to be considered for attendance to the seminar, an online application must be submitted by March 11, 2013.

The Instructional Technology Immersion Seminar strictly focuses on adopting new and existing instructional technology resources for use in course lesson plans and in the learning environment. The seminar has been conveniently scheduled to occur the week after classes end, from May 15-17, 2013. A wide variety of instructional technology topics will be offered that aim to develop technology skills, which can be used to enhance the learning experience of students in and out of the classroom.

The three day seminar, held on the main campus in Columbia, will offer hands-on, practical training on a wide variety of technologies. The agenda has not yet been finalized. A $500 stipend will be provided to all attendees for full participation in the three day seminar; no partial participation or partial compensation will be permitted. In addition, breakfast and lunch will be provided each day.

To showcase knowledge obtained at the seminar, faculty will be required to incorporate at least one instructional technology learned at the seminar in a course taught in Fall 2013. The instructor will also agree to create and deliver a presentation to faculty peers during one training or faculty event during the 2013-2014 academic year.

A limited number of seats (10) are available for this seminar. The Executive Vice President and Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Terry Smith and the Vice President for Adult Higher Education, Mike Randerson will select participants based on responses to the online application.

Full details of the seminar and online application can be found on the Instructional Technology Immersion Seminar 2013 website.

Applications must be submitted by March 11, 2013 for consideration. All applicants will be contacted will full details regarding acceptance status and seminar schedules.
